Alfaparf promotes the inclusion of people
with down syndrome and disabilities:

Beauty in all its forms lands in Portugal!

On occasion of World Down Syndrome Day, marked every March 21, ALFAPARF MILANO renews its support to people with Down syndrome and other disabilities. Although the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) calls for “full and effective participation and inclusion in society”, actually these people are often excluded from social and working life.

ALFAPARF MILANO firmly believes that people with Down syndrome and other disabilities have an inherent right to be accepted and included as valued members of the community. ALFAPARF MILANO thinks that every human being is unique, has a strong potential and should have a chance to prove it.

For this reason ALFAPARF MILANO developed Beauty in all its forms project, a training programme for Hairdresser’s Assistant. The aim of the project is to provide young people with Down syndrome and other disabilities with new skills, to push them to overcome their limits, to help them to follow and realize their dreams. The project started in Brazil in 2013; it was exported to Italy in 2015 and landed in Portugal in October 2021.

In Lisbon eight young guys are attending the training course (between October 2021 and June 2022). At the end, they will carry out a paid internship, which will allow them to get to know the professional reality up close or even get a job (watch the gallery, the inauguration day video and read the newspaper article!).

Carina, Carina, Catarina, Fatima, Felipe, Marta, Paula, Pedro: we wish you the very best!

Inclusion is a key goal of United Nations Sustainable Development Strategy and we are proud to have contributed with our Beauty in all its forms project to this ambitious plan.
